Medicare rebates are available for eligible clients who have a valid referral under a Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP).

Under the Australian Government's Better Access initiative, eligible individuals can access Medicare rebates of $101.55 per session, for up to 10 individual psychology sessions per calendar year.

To access Medicare rebates, you will need to arrange an appointment with your GP to discuss your mental health concerns and eligibility for a Mental Health Treatment Plan.

Your GP can initially refer you for up to six sessions, with the option of further sessions following a review of your progress and treatment needs.

Please note that Medicare rebates cover a portion of the session fee, and an out-of-pocket expense of $118.45 will apply.

You do not need a referral or Mental Health Treatment Plan to access psychological therapy.

If you prefer to attend privately, you are welcome to book an appointment without a GP referral. The full session fee will apply.

Depending on your level of cover, you may be eligible for a rebate through your private health insurance provider. I recommend contacting your insurer directly to confirm your eligibility.

Payment is required at the time of your appointment. Credit card details are securely stored on file, and payment will be processed using your nominated card following each session.

Where eligible, Medicare rebates can be processed following payment.

I understand that unexpected circumstances can arise and that you may occasionally need to cancel or reschedule an appointment. However, as appointment times are reserved specifically for you, I kindly ask that you provide as much notice as possible if you are unable to attend.

A minimum of 48 hours' notice is required to cancel or reschedule an appointment without incurring a fee.

Cancellations or requests to reschedule made with less than 48 hours' notice, as well as non-attendance at a scheduled appointment, will incur a cancellation fee of 50% of the standard session fee ($110).

I understand that emergencies and unforeseen circumstances can occur. In cases of serious illness or exceptional circumstances, cancellation fees may be waived at my discretion.

Please note that Medicare and private health insurance rebates cannot be claimed for cancellation or non-attendance fees.

Any outstanding cancellation fees must be paid prior to attending further appointments.
